Luke 10:25–37
Jesus lies beside the road
beaten, bruised and bloody
Jesus carries a broken body,
wounded soul, toward healing
Jesus cowers in a hidden hovel,
a poor man’s riches burning his hands
Jesus sits beside a dying woman,
praying for the ones he could not help
Jesus presides with the gathered,
and is with us as we scatter.
