meeting: love

 

1 Corinthians 9:16–23 

As you go to live out the gospel,

may you meet people where they are,

listen so as to understand,

speak so as to be understood,

sharing, above all, in the language 

of peace and love. 

May the Creator inspire you,

the Spirit encourage you,

and Wisdom-Jesus be there before you. 

Amen. 

Act for their good

1 Corinthians 8:1–13 

Go into the world to love,

building each other up,

by choosing to act for their good,

which is, after all, for yours also. 

May God be your ground of being,

Source of Life, Source of Wisdom,

Source of Love. Amen. 

called into fellowship

1 Corinthians 1:9-18 

confession 
God, forgive your church,
for we have become divided;
in large ways and small
your church has quarreled
and split from one another;
your church has forgotten
the call to unity, to
your purpose of peace and love;
your church has tried
to be clever and popular,
when your Way is foolish,
disturbs: forgive us,
again, make us one.

grace 
God is faithful,
God is calling,
listen, church of God:
you are forgiven.
Be at peace.
Be peace.

Made holy

1 Corinthians 1:1-9 

we are the church of God,
called to be made holy
with people of all times and places
bearing the name of the Christ

give thanks, church of God,
for the grace we are given
through Jesus the Christ, enriched
and strengthened in our faith

listen, church of God -
God is faithful, God is calling:

with thanks and in peace we gather,

and praise our God together.
