John 20:24–29 'Thomas': synonymous
with doubt as unwelcome,
unhelpful, yet Thomas
heard no censure, no
scolding as you held
his hand in your wounds,
opened truth to be seen.
Jesus, meet us where we
are, welcome our doubts,
and our fears; hold
our questions in your open
wounds so we, too,
may pass through death
into life.
